MGK Tech provides secure data erasure services for corporate devices and storage media intended for reuse, return, resale or decommissioning.
The service can be carried out directly at the customer’s premises or following the collection and intake of the devices. Depending on the type and condition of the storage media, the most appropriate treatment method and the data erasure standard are agreed with the customer.
When a computer, server or storage device is reused, transferred or decommissioned, deleting files or performing a standard format does not necessarily make the information stored on the device permanently unrecoverable.
For this reason, data erasure should be carried out using procedures appropriate to the storage technology and to the intended destination of the device.

Not all storage media can be treated in the same way. The appropriate procedure is selected according to the technology, condition of the device and its intended destination after the treatment.
For compatible and functioning storage media, MGK Tech can use BitRaser to perform software-based data erasure according to the standard agreed with the customer.
For magnetic storage media requiring an irreversible treatment, degaussing may be used depending on the characteristics of the project and the media involved.
When a storage device cannot be recovered, or when software-based erasure is not the appropriate solution, physical destruction may be carried out.
The same data erasure method is not applied indiscriminately. HDDs, SSDs, flash memory, mobile devices and storage systems have different characteristics and are assessed before the procedure is carried out.

For photocopiers and multifunction devices, the storage media can be removed and treated separately when required.
